68,000 new NC land grant loose document images (“shucks”) have been added to http://nclandgrants.com making a total of 929,000 land grant related images on the website. These new images are for Buncombe, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Onslow, and Polk Counties. Images are currently being digitized for Bladen, Montgomery, and Robeson, with 3 more sets waiting to be digitized.
Around 80% of the these documents are now online. Although we probably won’t be done by the end of summer as hoped, this project should be completed early fall. Thanks again to everyone who donated to make this project a reality.
