What types of records apply?
We have left this somewhat vague on purpose, but in general an original document, either governmental or personal, that contains information such as names or events that could be useful in researching NC genealogy and history. Records that are already online on free websites such as familysearch.org will generally not be considered unless there is accompanying “value add” materials not found on the free site such as transcriptions, indices, etc. Records already online on pay sites will be considered. Transcriptions or abstracts will generally not be accepted without the original document image.
How old is “historical”?
In general over 100 years old, but we will consider newer records that are significant to NC genealogical or historical research.
